Myrtle Beach Students Who Needed a Flexible Schooling Option Are Now High School Graduates Thanks to a Unique Partnership
South Carolina Public Charter School District with Acceleration Academies operates a non-traditional school that helps students in Myrtle Beach earn their high school diplomas. They graduated this week.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – December 5, 2025 - Yesterday, 26 students from Carolina Shores Acceleration Academy (CSAA), a free public charter high school with the South Carolina Public Charter School District, in Myrtle Beach walked across the stage to collect their high school diplomas. The ceremony is especially meaningful for these students who need a more flexible school option and found the academic and personal support they needed to earn their high school diplomas at Carolina Shores Acceleration Academy.
The ceremony commenced at 10:00 a.m. at Horry Georgetown Technical College's Market Common campus while families and other supporters cheered as students crossed the stage to accept their diplomas.
“Today we recognize and celebrate the hard work, persistence and perseverance of these graduates for achieving what some may have deemed impossible. Their commitment to themselves and their goals drove their success and we couldn’t be more proud of them. Each graduate who crossed the stage had a unique path to their diploma, whether health issues, family challenges, work demands or other situations that could have ended any hope they had of graduating from high school,” said Dr. Deirdra Brasch, CSAA Academy Director. “We are going to miss them in the academy but know each of them is set for a bright and successful future. We will continue to be here for them, to offer guidance and support as they move forward to pursue the next steps in their academic and personal journeys.”
Carolina Shores Acceleration Academy operates as a tuition-free South Carolina Public Charter School. Carolina Shores Acceleration Academy offers a flexible learning model that allows students to work in person and at home, year-round. With extended on-site hours, students focus on one course at a time and can complete coursework around their schedule. When working from home, students have access to receive remote support to help keep them on track in their courses. Acceleration Academies unique approach meets each student where they are and provides them the support they need.
“Congratulations to every one of the CSAA graduates today. Each student here deserves all the accolades we can give and our respect and admiration for earning their high school diplomas. Their journeys into adulthood offer much more promise and opportunity for having persevered in earning a solid academic foundation. What might have seemed impossible only a few years ago is now a reality!” said Kelli Campbell, CEO of Acceleration Academies.
