ED/IES Small Business Innovation Research - Proposals due 11am EST Jan 8
There is a new funding opportunity for education technology projects via the U.S. Department of Education's and Institute of Education Sciences' Small Business Innovation Research program. Awards are available for small businesses for research, development and evaluation of the next generation of education technology products.

Fast Company's 8th Annual World Changing Ideas Awards program honors products, concepts, companies, and policies that make the world safer, cleaner, more sustainable, and more equitable. Entrees judged by Fast Company editors and reporters. Select honorees will appear in the Summer 2025 issue of Fast Company magazine. Cost depends on number of employees.
Inc Best Workplaces - Early rate deadline approaching Dec 13
Inc's Best Workplace Awards recognizes places where people love to work. Companies must be based in the US, have 5 permanent employees, been in business for at least 2 years, and have total annual revenue less than $1 billion. All applicants receive a company-overview report with actionable insights. Winners featured on Inc.com. Early entry rate is $345.
2025 Tech Tactics in Education Conference - Call for speakers ends Jan 6
The virtual Tech Tactics in Education Conference (May 7) offers both in-depth and interactive sessions including panel discussions, hands-on tutorials, and campus/expert perspectives. Topics: emerging trends in AI, cybersecurity, data, and ed tech impacting education institutions. Presenters should be higher ed or K-12 IT leaders and practitioners. Industry experts considered for non-promotional presentations only.
NCCI Annual Conference - Call for speaker consideration closes Jan 14
For next year's NCCI conference the theme is Engineering Change and Empowering Transformation in Higher Ed. The July conference in Atlanta will discuss how there has advanced change and innovation in higher education.
Distance Learning Conference - Call for proposals closes Jan 15
The Distance Learning Conference (DLC) specifically addresses the needs of those who plan, manage, and support distance education activities. Apply for a paper session or fishbowl dialogue session. Topics: managing growth in distance education, distance learning ethics and copyright issues, and marketing distance courses and programs.
Communicator Awards - Final entry deadline Jan 24
The Communicator Awards recognizes excellence, effectiveness, and innovation across all areas of communication. Open to all companies, agencies, organizations and individuals. Entries must have been produced after Jan 1, 2023. Entries start at $195.

Campus Technology has put a call out for their readers to weigh in with their predictions, wishes, or worries for 2025. They are particularly looking for opinions on cybersecurity and privacy, AI, and developments in edtech. Submissions due by Dec. 16.
SmartBrief Originals Series
SmartBrief publishes more than 200 niche newsletters and recently has launched their Original series. They are looking for articles in various topics including education, healthcare, leadership, and technology. CoSN will hold their conference in Seattle next year, March 31-April 2. CoSN is a terrific organization where vendors get a bit closer to educators than is typical at other conferences. If ISTE, FETC, and TCEA feel too large for your company to stand out, CoSN might be a refreshing change.
