MuckRack's AI Citations Webinar: What is AI Reading?
If you missed the Nov 5 webinar, MuckRack broke down insights from their fourth installment of the What is AI Reading? report, which is MuckRack's ongoing study of how generative AI systems cite sources. There is an on-demand webinar available to download.
I studied their October 2026 report and have a few thoughts. First, MuckRack found that Forbes was a universally cited domain by each model. MuckRack continues by also saying "there is no single source ecosystem shared by every provider," which may feel contradictory. Their point is that no single model (the analyzed results from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity) had the same mix of sources.
Our research with QueryScope makes it very easy to understand why. Even thought most of our work is in education, the sources vary significantly across prompt sets. The takeway is that each brand and their market has to be queried independently and at scale to produce actionable intelligence for public relations.
