CINCINNATI, Ohio inquirED, the pioneer in helping schools transition to inquiry-based education, announced today it will host two important inquiry-education events – an Ohio Inquiry Symposium with Lakota Local School District on February 26 and “Beyond the Textbook: Empower Teachers & Students,” an official panel of SxSWEdu, in Austin, Texas on March 9.

Inquiry-based based learning is a student-centered process engaging students’ drive to discover, their need to question, and their ability to create solutions that could transform the world around them. The teaching model has gained wide and popular adoption in Europe and is growing in favor in the United States.

Lakota Local School District, co-host of the Ohio Inquiry Symposium in February, is a public district with approximately 15,000 students that has adopted inquiry education in its K-6 social studies program, supported by ongoing professional development and curriculum supplied by inquirED. The symposium will feature teachers, district leaders, and experts in this form of pedagogy as well as classroom visits to see inquiry education in action. Symposium registration is $50 but is free to members of the media.
