Swing Education Issues a Call for More Substitute Teachers in Los Angeles
Swing Education, a centralized platform where substitute teachers connect with schools and school districts, is recruiting to fill critically needed substitute teacher openings
LOS ANGELES - September 26, 2023 - Schools in Los Angeles are struggling with teacher shortages. In an effort to help, Swing Education has launched a campaign to recruit substitute teachers so that schools will have enough staff to fill in for teacher vacancies.
“This call is for existing and new substitutes. Thousands of substitutes are needed in California and this is one way for new and experienced substitutes to help out in areas of great need,” said Mike Teng, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Swing.
Swing is a staffing marketplace connecting school districts with substitute teachers. It has been helping schools fill classroom vacancies since 2015. In the 2022-23 school year, Swing logged over one million instructional hours.
With Swing, schools have full control over their sub-pool while Swing handles recruiting, on-boarding, and payroll on their behalf. Through Swing’s platform, subs can find assignments that fit into their schedule, get paid weekly, and receive hands-on support so they are classroom-ready from day one.
“Being a substitute is a wonderful job for anyone, but we especially encourage college students, prospective teachers, and retirees to go to Swing and sign up to be a sub. It’s a great job with great pay, and it’s a terrific way to give back to the community at a time when our schools desperately need help,” added Teng.
